Jesse Malin needs your help. We are asking close friends and family for a significant donation.
In just 10 minutes’ time, our rock and roll warrior was blindsided by fate. He is diagnosed with "complete" spinal injury, meaning he is completely paralyzed from the waist down.
He is not yet fully aware of, and we don’t want to burden him with, the extent of the large expense of his medical care.
He is consumed with trauma and the current daily medical regimen. He is fighting so hard to regain his ability to walk. Within that fight, the details of finances, logistics, and medical needs cannot be his focus.
Your willingness to donate as much as possible will cover the bulk of what the insurance company won't pay and more.
ONE Year estimate…
*Stem cell treatment for spine (bowel and bladder will be additional)- $35,000 each treatment plus travel, 3 to 4 required)
* Integrative and naturopathic doctors are not covered by insurance- $25,000 - $40,000
* Ongoing nursing and home care - $150,000 - $225,000 depending on the level of independence Jesse achieves
* All therapeutic medical - $25,000 - $35,000
* Full-time higher level physical therapy including electric stimulation treatment – 5 times a week, 4 hours a day -$210,000 - $250,000
* Counseling- $26,000.
* Transport to all appointments and facilities - $40,000 - $85,000
* Apartment reconstruction for wheelchair access and handicapped living - $45,000
* Purchases of medical equipment and furniture for handicapped living.- $10,000
*Alternative therapies- acupuncture, massage, hyperbaric oxygen…$75,000- $150,000
None of us can accept this as his final hour. We cannot accept the traditional parameters given to patients with paralysis.
The complete disability that he is experiencing is inoperable but as you are aware, modern medicine is advancing at rapid paces, at a very high expense. Your generosity can help overcome these obstacles by affording him cutting edge care.
Anyone who knows Jesse will tell you he is always the one who gives. He is the one who is always there for those in need, as evidenced by his work with Sweet Relief, Musicares, Light of Day Foundation, Joe Strummer Foundation, Save Our Stages, Joey Ramone Foundation for Lymphoma Research, Joey's Song, Black Lives Matter, Howl Helps, Positive Panther Benefit (Natalie Beaverstock/fan for a wheelchair), Rock The Night Foundation, Rock Against Racism, Jail Guitar Doors, The Bowery Mission, Road 2 Recovery Foundation, Little Kids Rock Foundation, and food banks around New York City.
Forever grateful to you on Jesse’s behalf.
Proceeds from this tax-deductible donation will go towards his care.
Thank you for your generous contribution.
