As this year comes to an end, we at Sweet Relief want to take a moment and reflect on 2018. Everyone is looking forward to the 12 months ahead, but we also find it important to take a look back and learn from the events that have passed. Read below to see each Team Members moment of reflection-
I feel incredibly thankful to have had so many great experiences, as well as difficult challenges throughout 2018. I plan on taking everything I have learned in the past year and apply it going forward in 2019.
2018 has been one of the most challenging years I have faced. I am so happy to have finally graduated from CSUF, but still find myself learning more and more each day. If I had to sum up what I learned this year in its entirety, I’d have to use a saying someone once told me “Things are not always what they seem…” I am looking forward to pushing myself at work and continuing to discover myself. Going to a ton of concerts and music festivals wouldn’t be too bad either…
I spent a lot of this year making sure I was truly living within the moments that were happening. With that, I was able to enjoy and experience more of my day to day life instead of letting my anxieties and worries win. In 2019, I want to continue this practice, and hopefully take it with me on adventures that go further outside my comfort zone (road trips, I’m looking at you!).
This past year has taught me patience and tolerance in all things. I look forward to watching my son grow and learning more from him in 2019.
What I learned in 2018 is, that despite everything we read in the news on a daily basis, people are genuinely compassionate and generous when given the chance. In 2019, I’m looking forward to finding new and better ways to serve musicians in need. The amount of suffering we see from musicians applying for assistance is beyond staggering. We have to come up with more innovative strategies that not only provide hope but permanent & comprehensive solutions to their problems.
From all of us, THANK YOU for being a part of our team and helping us with our mission to support musicians in need. We’re always working on bigger and better ways to help, and we hope you join us. Cheers to a wonderful 2019!
