As many are aware, Erica Hoffman has been a staple in the music community for many years. As a vocal coach, she has worked closely with musicians in a way not all vocal coaches do. Erica’s passion is helping artists discover their musical identity, both through the development of each artist’s individual voice, and in helping them find their unique creative thumbprint within their original compositions.
Unfortunately in October 2015, after becoming violently ill, she was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer. Although her partial-colectomy was a success, the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, lungs, and liver. Just before Christmas of that year, Erica began chemotherapy treatments at Georgia Cancer Specialists. In recent months, her doctors informed her that the chemo was no longer working.
In an effort to cope, Erica documents her experience as a cancer patient in her candid and humorous blog: To Infinity! (and around again). In May, she posted an update that not only gave a better view of how life is while living with this disease, but also broke down a few ways friends, family, and YOU can help.
